Estimation of wind speed distribution at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China and the disadvantages of Weibull function

Analyzes ten years (1991-2000) of measured wind speed data of two meteorological stations, Zhurihe and Xilinhaote station, at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.The scale and shape parameters are estimated using the regression method. Observes that both the scale and shape parameters varies widely over the months. The objective of the analysis is to get the required parameters for further study on the wind potential at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
