Abstract Submission and Acceptance

Prospective presenters are invited to electronically submit an abstract in 200-300 words. The abstract can be sent as email attachment (Word or RTF format), or simply in email text. The abstract must include paper title, author name(s) and full mailing address(es), as well as email address of the corresponding author. Abstracts should be sent to:

Full-length Papers    

The authors of accepted abstracts are requested to submit their full-length papers not later than May 15, 2009. Authors are required to prepare their papers based on the guidelines for publication in the Environmental Informatics Archives (EIA), a series of volumes of ISEIS conference proceedings. The format requirements are simple and the guidelines are easy to follow with the use of the sample paper.

The 2009 volume of Environmental Informatics Archive containing your paper will be available at the registration desk of the conference. Selected papers will be further peer-reviewed after the conference for publication in the Journal of Environmental Informatics (JEI).

Guidelines for Oral Presentation

- Submit the completed Speaker Information Form for each presentation to ( before
June 31, 2009.
- Authors will not be permitted to use their own laptops for presentations.
- It is necessary to meet your session chair in the room designated for your session before the session begins. Any last minute information will be provided there. At that time, please verify that the session chair has a copy of your “Speaker Information Form” and your presentation file on the computer.

- Only MS PowerPoint for Windows is available for PC projector presentation.
- Only Windows operating systems are available.
- It is suggested to save your files for the presentation to a CD-ROM. It must be submitted to the registration desk at the time of on-site registration.
- Please label both the disk and its case with sufficient information to uniquely identify the presentation, including paper number, title, or authors.
- Use your paper number and your last name for the PowerPoint file name: for example, 04-321-Smith.ppt.
- To avoid problems with incompatibility, use common font types (such as Arial or Times New Roman) and avoid excessive animation.
- An assistant will be on-site with the equipments to get your file ready for presentation.

- A presentation must not exceed 15 minutes in length, and will be followed immediately by a 5 minute question period.
- Session chairs will be instructed to adhere rigidly to the presentation schedule. Presentations that go over the allotted time period will not be permitted.
- The presentation schedule will be sent to you with final programme as soon as it is available.


Poster Presentation

A poster session is open throughout the conference. Poster boards in common area of the meeting will be provided to registered participants to present the highlights of a subject. Please contact the programme committee ( as soon as possible if you are interested in showing your work with posters. In case the space is not adequate to accommodate all the needs, priority will be first given to those will not present orally, and then corporation/industry participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registered participants can feel free to bring along any brochures and pamphlets to the conference. Tables are available for distribution during the conference. Please hand them over to conference staff at registration desk.
