Special Issue for “2020 International Forum on Energy, Water and Environment”



Dear colleagues,

The 2020 International Forum on Energy, Water and Environment (EWE 2020) is initiated by the China-UNDP Water Governance Programme. EWE 2020 is expected to address various Energy, Water and Environmental issues and provide a platform for discussions and exchanges of innovative technologies, sophisticated experiences, and robust policy initiatives in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Forum will bring together experts in the fields of Energy, Water and Environment (EWE) to promote research achievements and management practices in relation to sustainable development of Energy, Water and Environmental systems.

Participants of the Forum will be welcomed to exhibit their innovative works on the Journal of Environmental Informatics Letters (JEIL). JEIL is an international, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary publication designed to foster research innovation and discovery on basic science and information technology for addressing various environmental problems. The journal aims to motivate and enhance the integration of science and technology to help develop sustainable solutions that are consensus-oriented, risk-informed, scientifically-based and cost-effective. JEIL is a companion journal of Journal of Environmental Informatics which is sponsored by International Society for Environmental Information Sciences (ISEIS) as indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).

Potential topics include, but are not be limited to:

  • Policies and strategies related to EWE

  • Simulation, optimization and environmental decision support

  • Water resources and river basin management

  • Computer graphics and visualization for environmental decision support

  • Artificial intelligence and expert systems for environmental applications

  • Environmental statistics and risk analysis

  • Climate modeling, downscaling, impact assessment, and adaptation planning

  • Solid and hazardous waste management

  • Groundwater contamination and protection

  • Ecosystem management and biodiversity conservation

  • Carbon capture and storage

Full papers, reviews, and technical notes are welcomed and will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication. The deadline for manuscript submission is 1st March 2021.
